Documentation
This page is the reference manual for the My Card Creator editor. It lists every part of the tool, what it does and the limits you should know about. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing here needs an account.
1. Getting Started
- Open mycardcreator.com and either use the editor on the homepage or open a sport page such as the Cricket or Football card maker.
- Pick a sport with "Select Sport"; each sport has its own stats fields, defaults and templates.
- The tool works in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox on phones, tablets and computers. JavaScript must be enabled.
- There is no login. Your work is kept only in this browser on this device.
2. Editor Layout
On a computer the live preview is on the left and the utility panel on the right; on a phone the preview comes first and the panel follows below it.
Above the preview you find "History" and "Undo" / "Redo" (up to 30 steps in this session) and the "Front" / "Back" switch. Below it sit the "Theme Preset & Layer Overrides" menu and the background and foil layer colours.
The utility panel runs from top to bottom in this order: Select Sport, Card Style & Template, Card Extras or Card Rating (when the template uses them), Player Photo / Cutout, player information, Stats & Attributes, Card Back, Display Mock-up, Download, Save & Share, Bulk / Team Cards (CSV) and VS / Matchday Card.
3. Templates and Filters
There are 87 templates in three families: Classic, Pro Shield and Showcase. The "Card Style & Template" bar stays at the top while you scroll; its "All", "Showcase", "Pro Shield" and "Classic" buttons filter the list. Under Showcase, designs that suit the selected sport are listed first as "Recommended".
Showcase designs open "Card Extras": card number, serial (for example 1/1), tagline, set name, year and up to two signatures. Only the fields the chosen design shows are listed, and empty fields stay hidden. Pro Shield designs show "Card Rating" instead; leave it empty and the rating is worked out from your stats.
4. Player Photo
Upload any image your browser can open (JPG, PNG, WebP and similar). "Crop & Frame Photo" lets you zoom, move, rotate and flip it before it is placed. Sliders adjust photo zoom, name size, name colour palette, stats position and stats size. You can also click the photo or the name on the card to resize it in place.
No photo? "No photo? Use a preset silhouette" offers ready-made sport poses and emblems in the colour you choose. Photos never leave your device.
5. Player Information and Stats
Each sport has its own fields (for example batting average and strike rate for cricket, or PAC, SHO and PAS for football). Values appear on the card as you type. Fields you leave empty are hidden on designs that support it.
6. Themes and Effects
The theme menu holds 51 themes, grouped into Classic Themes and Pro Themes. You can override the background layer and the foil layer colours of any theme. "Holo tilt" makes the card lean and shine under the mouse on a computer; it is a preview effect and never appears in exported files.
7. Card Back
Flip the card with "Front" / "Back" and fill in "Card Back": a short bio, height, weight, hometown and up to three highlights. The stats table on the back is built from the stats you already entered. Download the back as PNG or PDF, or front and back together as a two-page PDF.
8. Display Mock-up
"Display Mock-up" places the side shown in the preview inside a clear toploader or a graded-style slab, with an optional studio backdrop, and downloads a PNG. The slab label always says it is a mock-up, so it cannot be mistaken for a real grading certificate.
9. Export Formats
All downloads are free, without watermark or limit:
- PNG: sharp, lossless; best for sharing and printing.
- JPG: smaller files for messages and social posts.
- WebP and AVIF: modern, very small files for websites (AVIF falls back if your browser cannot encode it).
- SVG: the whole card in one SVG file, for web use.
- Editable Vector SVG: name, text and shapes stay editable in Illustrator, Inkscape or Figma.
- PDF: a print-ready file at the standard 2.5" × 3.5" card size.
10. Printing
"Print Card" opens your browser's print dialog with only the card on the page, at 2.5" × 3.5" (63.5 × 88.9 mm). "A4 Print Sheet (9 cards)" places nine copies on one A4 page with crop marks.
For the right size, print at 100% scale ("Actual size") with margins off. Thick cardstock (300 gsm or more) gives the most card-like result.
11. Save, My Collection and Packs
"Save Card" stores a copy in your browser's local storage, and "My Collection" lists your saved cards: filter them, reopen them in the editor, delete them, or press "Open a pack" to reveal up to five of them like a real card pack.
Browser storage is limited (a warning appears when it is nearly full) and is cleared if you clear your browsing data or use a private window. Download a PNG or PDF of cards you want to keep for good.
12. Share
"Share Card" uses your device's share sheet where it is available; otherwise it offers a direct download plus share links for X (Twitter), WhatsApp and Facebook.
13. Bulk / Team Cards (CSV)
Style one card first, then open "Bulk / Team Cards (CSV)" and download the CSV template. Its header row holds the field names of the selected sport (plus Card Extras or Rating when the template uses them) and two example rows.
Fill in one row per player, up to 100 rows (CSV or TSV, UTF-8; the template opens correctly in Excel), and upload it. Every card uses the same template, theme and photo. Download the result as a ZIP of PNG cards or as A4 print sheets in PDF. Processing happens in your browser.
14. VS / Matchday Card
Enter the name, team or country, colour and photo for "Player A" and "Player B", or press "Use my card's player" to copy the player you designed. Add the event, stage, date and venue, then download PNG or PDF. The matchday card is saved per sport in your browser.
15. Embed This Tool
Club, league, school and fan websites can place any of the 20 sport card makers on their own pages for free. The "Embed This Tool" page (linked in the footer) gives a ready-made iframe code for each sport and language. Embedded makers keep the same privacy: nothing is uploaded.
16. Languages and Display
The site and the editor are available in 15 languages. The language switcher opens the same page in the language you pick; English lives at the root address and every other language under its own folder (for example /hi/ or /es/). The theme toggle in the settings switches between light and dark mode.
17. Privacy and Data
My Card Creator has no backend: images, names and stats are processed in your browser and are never uploaded. Drafts, settings and saved cards are kept in local storage on your device only. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
18. Troubleshooting
- Printed card has the wrong size: set the print scale to 100% / "Actual size" and turn margins off.
- Download does nothing on a phone: allow downloads for the site, or use "Share Card" and save the image from the share sheet.
- A saved card is missing: it was stored in another browser, a private window, or the browsing data was cleared.
- "Storage almost full" warning: delete old cards in My Collection or download them first.
